Things to Know:

Anyone at least 18 years old who has a valid U.S. Social Security or Taxpayer Identification number and a physical address that is not a PO Box can open an ISave 529 account.

You do not have to be an Iowa resident to open an account, and the student you are saving for does not have to be an Iowa resident, either.

Different people can open separate accounts for the same student. This means a father, a mother and a grandparent can all team up to save.
Things to Have:

Your birthday and Social Security number, as well as the birthdate and Social Security number of the child you are saving for.

Your banking information so you can make a contribution and set up recurring contributions, if you wish to.
